I have a 92 Ford F150 with the 302 in it. For some reason when i am running the a/c and i come to a stop my voltage bogs down really low and some times even kills the truck. Brand new alternator and brand new battery, i had the alternator tested with a load on it and it tested good. Any suggestions?

That's not unusual at all and is pretty much normal. The alternator is just not spinning fast ennough to keep up with the load being used at that RPM. Your problem may be more of an idle control problem rather than electrical.

You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

I Really need guidance.I have missed 1 whole week of unpaid work, my job depends on using my own truck.I am really worried about missing any further work,in having to provide for my 4 children and wife. Any how I have a 2007 Ford F150, Last week it started with symptoms of slow start and it wanting to stop. There was never a check engine light at the time battery just keep draining after that. I went to firestone they said my alternator was ok and sold me a battery. Next day same problem engine shaking wanting to shut down. I go to a mechanic shop in Santa Clarita CA the mechanic says, the alternator is ok but still needs to be change, so changes the alternator, nothing resolved.Now for the first time check engine goes on. I have these codes P0022 & P0175, Can any please explain the seriousness of these codes, what it could cost in range to repair, I am really broken over it, in the outcome that my finances are depleted. My wife will be able to possibly get around $800 next week from financial aid college to help me , Will that be enough for my repairs.Also should i take my truck to a dealer or is it some any other mechanic should be easily to fix thank you all for your guidance and help..

Those codes mean your bank 2 timing is over-advanced and that bank is running rich. The cause for it could be many things and needs to be diagnosed properly by a competent mechanic. That last one just wasted a bunch of money. Why he would say the alternator was fine but needed to be changed is beyond me. Its either good or its not. You don't need a dealership, but a competent shop that does driveability work.

I have a 1992 2 wheel drive Ford F150 with the 302 motor in it. I have changed the water pump, tensioner, belt, smog pump, and alternator. After each time i installed the new parts the loud squeal would go away for about a day and then it starts squealing very loudly again. I do not know what else to do. I took it to a mechanic today and he just installed a new belt and said it was fixed, well it has started again. It is very loud when the rpms climb higher and isnt as loud sitting in idle. What is more likely to be now? Power steering? A/C bearing? or fan clutch?

With all that done and still a noise you will probably need to listen with a stethoscope for which item is the culprit.

Make sure belt it tight enough even with all that new stuff it could be a bit long for self tensioning.

Note: A/C clutch bearing can't make noise if compressor is engaged as it's still during operation relative to the speed,

so i have a 91 ford f150 6 cylinder 5.0l engine. i just put a new battery in the truck, and the battery is fully charged. but the battery level gauge in the dash is telling me it is getting almost no power. when i turn the key the solenoid on the wheel well clicks a little, then starts to fade quickly. like i do not have enough power. and the truck dose not crank over. even when i try to jump start it, it will not start up. i have already checked my battery connections. and even the connections to the solenoid. i checked all fuses, and all the wires that i could find. that have a snap in connection to make sure they were firmly connected. none of anything i tired did anything. any ideas?

Use a digital multimeter and do a voltage drop test on your cables. also make sure your ground is good. Quick test for that is to hook a jumper cable end to battery negative and the other end to a shiny piece of your engine. If the truck starts or your situation improves you know you are dealing with a bad ground.

You will also want to see what your battery voltage is at when you are trying to start it using a multimeter on the battery terminals.

When this is happening, do your headlights seem to be bright? Do they dim considerably when you try to start it?

thank you for the advice. it turned out to be a faulty battery. and i needed to replace the alternator. its all fixed up and running like a champ now. again thank you for your help. your advice pushed me into the right direction.

I recently purchased a 1982 Ford F-150 Pick-up, I believe the engine size is 305 cu. in., the engine was installed about 4 years ago and has approx. 60,000 miles on it. I was told when I purchased the truck that the turn signals did not work, however the emergency flashers do work. In the last 30 to 45 days I've installed a new battery, new voltage reg., new starter and new starter relay, new coil, new battery cables, new wiring harness leading from the voltage reg. to the alternator. The parts I replaced were to address the truck not starting, which is no longer a problem. The truck runs good but any advice on fixing these turn signals will be greatly appreciated. I've checked the fuses and all seem to be fine. Thank-you, PapaHosers

I would imagine if the hazards work fine then you'll be needing a new turn signal switch. Do you have the regular column or the tilt? By the way, Chevy made a 305. Your truck has a 302. I like that body style of truck. I learned how to drive in an 84 with a stick shift.
