I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo with a 3.2L DOHC 58K miles and am replacing the timing belt after it broke. I am trying to align the timing marks on the camshaft sprocket to the marks on the valve cover. Both the left and right side camshaft have "sprung" into place but the marks are still off. Can I keep turning them until they "spring" into the correct position?

It's never going to "spring" into place. The cams have to be held in place while the belt is installed and if you have been rotating the engine with the belt off, you may have already bent all the valves. This can be a very costly lesson in not messing with timing belts if you are not experienced in doing them.

1st thing is to find out what basic piece is missing, spark or fuel. Get a spark tester and check for spark. These aren't the easiest to check fuel pressure but that should be done as well...

If it has spark, spray some carb clean down the throttle body to see if that will make the engine start for a few seconds....

well i check to see if it had spark and it didnt and i noticed that one of my electrical wires in the conecter to the coils was like soidered back to gether do u think that might be causing the problem cuz i checked my coils on a diffrent rodeo and they worked fine

Next you should check your timing belt. Take the oil cap off and see if you can see a rocker arm, if you can crank the engine and make sure the rocker arms are moving, if you can't see one, take a couple bolts out of the timing cover over the cam gear and pry it gently foward so you can see the gear. Then have a helper crank the engine over and make sure the gear is turning.

If the rocker arms or cam gear don't move, you have a stripped/broken timing belt..........

alright so i checked the the timming belt and its good and also check the wires going in to my igniton module and the have power going to it so do u thing its the igniton module or something else

It's possible it's a bad module but other things should be checked as well.....

1st thing you should do is check all your fuses just to be sure they're good. You need to make sure the IC (control module) is recieving a signal from the crank sensor.... If you have a tach, see if it shows rpms while cranking, if not you should get a noid light and check for injector pulse.

If the IC is recieving a signal, has power & ground barring a bad wire or PCM it's faulty..........

I am in Australia running an RB Gemini which is the same as Isuzu I-Mark and Chev Spectrum FWD.
Timing belt snapped and I cannot find a diagram for correct installation anywhere in Oz. I am hoping some one can assist.
1985/86 FWD 1.5 Liter.

I hope this is what you're looking for you didn't give us the year and engine size. So I went to the last year they were sold here I Canada. These engine's usually bend valves when a timing belt breaks. Forgot to say if you want this copy it to a file I won't be able to keep it up for long do to the file size.

1998 Isuzu Rodeo, 3.2L V-6,5-spd,4wd.
I changed the timing belt, cleaned throttle plate and now the vehicle will idle but has no power under acceleration and backfires/pops through intake duct work only. I have rechecked/redone the timing process at least 10-15 times and I had it wrong once but since had everything in order but still having backfires, MIL light blinks while running and cannot get a code with the machine. Please help an aggravated home mechanic.

my 1990 Isuzu trooper wants to overheat when idling or going uphills, but is fine everywhere else. It's been doing this for about 2 years and has recent new radiator and hoses, water pump, timing belt, and spark plugs. any ideas? thanks

I agree with Tom have the thermostatic rad fan clutch tested. It sounds to me that there is not enough airflow through the rad at times to cool the engine.
These fan clutches are designed; that at low RPM and/or high temperature the clutch locks up and drives the fan blades as fast as the engine is turning; drawing lots of air across the rad fins. This also takes a far bit of power for the engine to drive the fan; lowering performance and fuel mileage.
When you’re cruising down the highway under light load there is enough air flowing through the rad to keep the engine cool. At that point the clutch relaxes and allows the fan to free wheel. Giving the power to drive the fan back to the rear wheels, increasing performance and fuel mileage.
Sorry for the fan clutch 101 explanation but I thought if you knew what it was you’d understand why we’re saying have it checked.

Sounds like a fan for radiator problem. If a clutch get a new one if more than a few years old. Next would be the quality of the condition of the radiator. Take a look at it you may see that it's junk from the outside, T
