(NAPSI)-Relationships between cars and the environment may have just taken a turn for the better.

According to the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, car makers have developed advanced engine technologies-such as lean burn, direct injection, hybrids and fuel cells-that are helping to make cars, minivans, sport utility vehicles and pick-ups even cleaner and more fuel efficient.

The Alliance offers a 20 page report called Advanced Technology Vehicles Take To The Road, detailing high-tech developmental and production vehicles from its member companies.

The report is intended to give consumers a better idea of what kinds of hybrid electric, natural gas and fuel cell vehicles are currently available and what types of vehicles will be available in the near future.

The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers is a coalition of 13 companies whose vehicles represent 90 percent of U.S. automobile sales.

For more information, visit www.autoalliance.org.

Some of the next generation of cars are expected to use alternative sources of fuel.
