I have a 2001 Volvo c70 convertible with a turbo. It is an automatic. The problem is it is not shifting pass 2nd gear. He rpm are not rising however. I replace the reset valve and had the engine refine and now I'm not sure what to do. Please help

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

None of that makes any sense. You need to re-write it with a much more detailed explanation.

Question From pittbully2727 on 2001 volvo c70 hesitates

i just baught a 2001 volvo c70 and it hesitates when i take off and when i am not accelerating around 2400 rpms, i have changed the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, added a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment, also patched a hole in the ecu cooling hose.

Response From zmame

Who's to say damage hasn't been done to ECU injectors are run by transistors in ECU could be powder from aluminum housing floating around in there who know what els could be affected.. Any codes?.. could be coil, or bad coil boot.

Response From pittbully2727

no codes but there was some oil on two of the plugs that leads me to belive there is a bigger problem... doing a compression check today to check rings and exaust valve....

Response From zmame Top Rated Answer

you sure its oil not just wet.. or possibly oil leaking into plug cavity from leaking valve cover gasket.. wouldn't hurt to do a compression test anyways.

by oil on the plugs just making sure you mean on the tips and your sure its oil not just gas mixed with carbon from the plug.

blower motor

Question From eyob07 on blower motor

Hi everyone is it hard to replace a blower motor on Volvo C70 2007

Response From Discretesignals

6.6 hours labor + $273.00 for the blower.

Response From eyob07

thank you, the problem is the blower motor comes and goes, like when the car is on a rough road the bower works and after while it quiets, I wonder if is this is a connection problem or internal problem of the blower what do you guys think, thank and God bless you all.

Response From Hammer Time

Could be either one. You aren't going to know until you actually check it out while it's dead.

Response From eyob07

Hi everyone I just need to know the location of the blower resistor, a picture will be good thank you like always.

Response From eyob07

thank you, well I,m not a professional I,m just an enthusiast so don't expect me to aproche problems that way, I want to know once I took the motor and find out to be ok the next step will be to check the resistor

Response From Discretesignals

This climate control system is a little complex. The climate control module (ccm) talks to the central electronic module(cem). Based on the inputs the ccm receives it tells the cem how fast it wants the blower to run. The cem sends a pulse width modulated signal to the blower driver to regulate the motor's speed. There is no conventional blower resistor. The blower's speed is controlled by transistors built inside it based on the duty cycle of the signal it receives from the cem.

Maybe you should let this one go and send the person to a professional. You don't want to spend 7 hours ripping the dash out thinking you can just connect the blower motor to a battery to get it to work. It needs not only battery and ground, but it also needs a duty cycled signal to operate.

Response From eyob07 Top Rated Answer

thank you very much and I will do like you suggested.

Response From Hammer Time

In all the responses posted here, not one even mentions a blower resister and yet that's what your looking for.

Response From eyob07

thanks and we will see what in there when I check it dead.
