Question From mtnbikewoody54 on turn signal problems w/ 95 grand Cherokee Limited

My turn signal will make a buzzing sound when using it to turn, then work for a couple of clicks then just buzz. I replaced my turn signal flasher (EP27). Then the turn signals will work but it buzzes when the turn signal is not on. I have left to old flasher unit in to avoid constant buzz. Checked fuses, no problem there. Any Help?

left rear brake and turn signal lights don't work

Question From eeeedv on left rear brake and turn signal lights don't work

2002 Ford Explorer Sport 2WD 4.0L SOHC 6cyl. 67132 miles
4 months ago my left rear brake and left rear turn signal light went out.I tested the bulb by putting it in the rear right brake and turn signal socket. The bulb worked through all stages
Pressed the brake pedal and it lit up,turned on right turn signal and it flashed on and off, turned on parking lights and it lit when brake pedal pressed and flashed when turn signal on.Next I replaced the turn signal flasher and everything worked great.Pulled into driveway today and my son noticed that my left rear brake light is out.Tried my left turn signal and it also was out.So..
I tested the bulb again the same as before and the bulb works good.My turn signal indicater sounds normal so I replaced the turn signal flasher again but this time the brake stop light and turn signal are still out.The bulb lights up when I turn on the parking lights but thats all.The bulb is good ,the turn signal flasher is new.The reverse light works good.but the rear left brake light won't come on when brake pedal is pressed and left rear turn signal wont come on.Can anyone tell what else I might test or check to correct this problem.Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

The turn signal and brake lamp use the same filiment on the lamp. Check to see if you are getting 12V to the socket when the turn signal is on. Could be a faulty socket or the multifunction switch. My bets are on the socket. (Check the ground on that socket, too).

Park light and Turn signal short

Question From CoryRJanssen on Park light and Turn signal short

I have an 88' S15 Jimmy, within the last month or so, when I turn the park lights on the following happens: the left turn signal indicator comes on and stays on, the front left hand park light does not turn on. When I go to activate the left turn signal, turn signal indicator and turn signal light itself both flash but very slowly. What could the problems be?

Response From mw1871

With the parking lights on so the turn indicator is lit try this. Remove one light bulb at a time and see if the light for the turn goes out. If it does replace that bulb

Response From CoryRJanssen

Stupid me, I hadnt checked the left hand side front marker lamp, I was only checking the left hand side park/turn lamp. So while I was out there, the left hand side front marker lamp doesnt come on at all, I swapped that bulb into a socket that i knew was working and the bulb is fine, so its got to do with the marker lamp socket, right?

Response From CoryRJanssen

well, after checking the wiring between the marker lamp and the park/turn lamp, and trying to figure this problem out, it seems to have fixed itself, all of a sudden the marker lamp started to work and the indicator wasnt turning on with the park lights and it seems to all be working correctly, but for how long? it must be a short somewhere that i unknowingly undid...for now, till it shorts again...to be continued

Response From mw1871

Try checking the light bulbs on the affected side, both front and rear. They are a dual element bulb, and as one element burns out, the fillament will lie against the other, creating a path back to your dash indicator. I have seen this many times. Good luck and keep me posted.

Response From CoryRJanssen Top Rated Answer

Thanks for the quick reply but I checked all of the bulbs, the only one that seemed strange is the left turn signal bulb itself, one of the contacts to the element doesnt appear to be in contact but it still lights?! strange.

Question From ordopjxg on turn signals and brake lights

My brake lights and turn signals do not work on my neon, its a 96. Any advice?? Is it worth spending the money getting fixed. The turn signals blink fast like the bulbs are out but, that is not the case.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

Hey - you said they blink fast and don't work ---- which is it? T

Response From ordopjxg Top Rated Answer

WHEN I USE THE TURN SIGNAL IT BLINKS FAST ON THE DASHBOARD. BUT DOES NOT WORK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

It's got to be a mild short if not blowing fuses which will be a trick to find. I advise NOT messing with an air bag. T

Question From homesflavor on turn signals

I Have a 91 ford mustang 5.0 GT.my problem cant locate the flasher unit for the turn signal(only).Turn signal switch dont work accept for wiper blades but not (signals).all bulbs are working, fues for turn signals is good, also all four ways lights blink.

Response From way2old

Look on the back side of the fuse box. There should be a flasher on the front of the fuse panel and one directly behind it. Not easily accessed, but not real hard.
