Auto Repair Manual for 1999 Toyota Avalon

Question From juju33 on Auto Repair Manual for 1999 Toyota Avalon

Hello Everyone!
Does anyone know where I can purchase an auto repair manual for 1999 Toyota Avalon other than a Toyota dealership? I contacted the company that makes the Chilton Auto Repair Manuals, and they do not offer one. Need help!

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

Hi again :-),

Are we having fun yet? A basic manual should be sold by "Haynes" for about $12 at many chain parts stores but don't expect a lot out of for that price. They may sell better ones at this site - worth a look.

The real good manuals can cost hundreds!! Folks have complained about the Chilton's stuff. Mitchells and Motor are others. No harm in surfing or just hit back here - a member who goes by DanD has posted pages of diagrams and is magical at that. Hit back if you don't find what you want,

Response From juju33

Your'e right Tom about Haynes. Kinda get what you pay for. Haven't really looked at Mitchell's or Motor's manuals.

Thank's again Tom!

1995 Toyota Avalon Turn Signals stopped working

Question From cea1 on 1995 Toyota Avalon Turn Signals stopped working

The turning signals nor hazard lights on my 1995 Toyota Avalon will light-up when I press on the respective switch. I checked the fuse and all of the bulbs for both lights and found no problems. I also replaced the flasher, but still didn't have any luck. Although it shouldn't matter I replaced the flasher with a non-OEM type. But, if I'm not mistaken, even if the flasher is faulty the turn signal should still illuminate, right? What more can I check for? I have the Chilton wiring diagram, but I'm not sure of how to use it for troubleshooting and my Chilton repair manual doesn't provide the best troubleshooting guidance.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

Probably two different flashers so take one out at a time and check,

T

Response From cea1 Top Rated Answer

T, thanks for the suggestion. According to the Chilton wiring diagram there's only one flasher, but I'll check the diagram again.
