An easy to read LED display on the face of the unit clearly displays the rev-limit RPM. The display, in conjunction with rotary dials, is used to set the rev-limit, cylinder select, and even a timing start retard for race engines. Weve raised the bar and added an all-new UL listed marine ignition box to our lineup. The 6M-3L is a fully sealed unit with a single wiring connector making installation neat and easy. Three rotary dials and an LED display simplify setting the cylinder select, start retard and rev limiter. Plug-in rev limiter chips and hard to read dials are a thing of the past. For diagnostic purposes, the LED display can also be set to a live tach mode on V8s and even display battery voltage with the turn of a knob. The 6M-3L is a capacitive discharge ignition that multi-sparks from idle to 3,000 RPM providing a clean idle and quick throttle response. Above 3,000, capacitive discharge sparks will run clean through 12,000 RPM . For racers that want adjustments at their fingertips, the 7AL-3 is the right choice. The 7AL-3 packs high voltage with four step retards, three rev limits and an rpm switch. All of the features are adjusted using plug-in modules including the 3-Step Rev Control and Multi-Step Retard. The Rev Control gives you the ability to set one rev limit for the burnout, another for the staging rpm limit and a third for use top end engine protection in the event of driveline failure. For nitrous fans, there are four separate stages that can be activated independently yet add up together. Plus theres an RPM Activated Switch for precise control over a circuit. Something new is that the start retard is now adjustable with plug-in modules giving you better control over the amount of retard pulled out during cranking. Every spark of the Digital-6 Plus Ignition is packed with 135 millijoules of spark energy and 535 primary volts.For nitrous-equipped cars, the Digital-6 Plus offers a step retard that will retard the timing when the nitrous is activated. There is also a 2-step rev limiter for holeshot consistency and overrev protection. The Digital-6 Plus accepts points, amplifier, and mag pickup inputs and will run on 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engines. The MSD Digital 6 Plus uses a high-speed RISC microcontroller to control the ignitions output while constantly analyzing the various inputs such as supply voltage, trigger signals, and rpm. The 6 BTM is ideal for engines with a turbo or supercharger. Not only will the engine benefit from MSDs full power CD sparks, but there is also an adjustable boost/timing retard circuit to prevent detonation. When your turbo or blower forces the air/fuel mixture into the engine, the cylinder pressure inside the combustion chamber increases. The result is a great increase in power but this can also lead to detonation that can result in severe engine damage. The 6 BTM lets you dial away detonation by retarding the timing in relation to the boost pressure. A dash-mounted control knob lets you adjust the amount of timing retard. It can be adjusted from 0 degrees per pound of boost to 3 degrees per pound (up to 15 degrees). The 6 BTM also shares the Soft Touch Rev Control of the 6AL Ignition for overrev protection. The BTM is supplied with rubber shock mounts and rpm modules for 3,000, 6,000, 7,000, and 8,000 rpm.
