1988 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Question From kmlysek@juno.com on 1988 Plymouth Grand Voyager

1988 Plymouth grand voyager3.0 engine. The fuel pump is not functioning all the time. Only once in a while will it pump fuel. I am trying to locate the fuel pump relay which the haynes manuel refers to but can not locate it. The wiring diagram refers to it and the trouble shooting guide refers to it but only says "locate fuel pump relay and replace" I am lost. The only relays I can locate are the auto shut down, the ac fan, the ac clutch, the horn, the and one more I cannot remember. All of them are located on the fender and located in the wiring diagrams on the fender. The fuel pump relay is only located as cavity 25 and "see sheet 116" which does not exist in the haynes manuel. HELP

kmlysek@juno.com

Response From motorheadII

The ASD relay runs the fuel pump.

Response From kmlysek@juno.com

By the way. Thanks for the input. I am having a hard time with this haynes manual.

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

The mauals at the McParts stores are limited. You get what you pay for! For locations of relays etc., try the silly owner's manual, you might be surprised what's in there, Good luck with the fix,

DanD will be along after a while. He's a genius at posting diagrams and such.

Response From kmlysek@juno.com

I see that but the haynes also has wiring for a fuel control relay. The wiring appears to be seperate for the fuel pump. It looks like both have to be engages for the fuel pump to work. I think I need to locate the fuel pump relay. HELP

Response From motorheadII

Sorry, don't have a diagram or componet locater in front of me. My statement above is based on a diagram I looked at last week. Yours may be different.

92 plymouth grand voyager van not getting fire

Question From cavery on 92 plymouth grand voyager van not getting fire

Hi I have a 92 plymouth grand voyager van 3.0 engine, my husband was driving down the freeway when the van cut off and it has not started yet. When we checked it out it isnt getting any spark and the fuel pump is not coming on. We checked the power at the pump and it is getting power to the pump but not under the hood. We have replaced the crankshaft position sensor, the computer, the battery is fully charged. We arent getting any spark from the coil pack. we have checked all fuses.

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager, Water from A/C leaking inside the car

Question From bobshbob1 on 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager, Water from A/C leaking inside the car

1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 3.3L V6, 215k miles

The A/C normally blows cold air just fine, but the condensation line that normally drips water out under the car when the A/C is engaged has become either clogged or broken, causing water to spill out of the front floor vents, onto your feet. Where is this drain located under the car? and does it sound like the drain line is the source of the problem?

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

It comes through the firewall on the lower right side. They hide them pretty good so it may be hard to spot. Another thing that happens to them is someone removes the rubber downspout that is usually on the drain and that causes the dripping water to siphon back along the tube and back into the car under the carpet.

94 Plymouth Grand Voyager has no heat

Question From JanesAddiction on 94 Plymouth Grand Voyager has no heat

I have a 94 Plymouth Grand Voyager with a 3.3L engine and about 330,000kms. There is no longer a/c on the vehicle as the pump went so we put a bypass pulley kit on instead of replacing the a/c pump. We have replaced the thermostat twice, water pump, water valve, the radiator cap, and the main serpentine belt as well as forward flushed and reverse flushed the system as well as flushed the system with CLR (as recommended by my mechanic) and also checked to make sure that the blend door is not stuck and is working properly. There is air flow, it's only cold. The temp gauge does go up to normal temp. We have purged the system by jacking it up and leaving over night. Both of the lines going from the heater core through the fire wall are almost hot to touch when running at normal temp.

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch.

Response From JanesAddiction

Yes, both hoses are hot to touch when at full operating temp.

Response From Hammer Time

Then your problem can only be in the blend door. There are no other possibilities.
Hot water is traveling through the heater core but the door is not directing the air properly
