If you decide to do it; be SURE NOT to get coolant on the timing belt. completely drain the cooling system first and I would advise placing a very absorbant rag under the pump and kind of stuffed between the engine and time belt cover to catch any antifreeze that may drip/drop down onto the belt. Reason: the antifreeze will cause damage to the time belt and cause it to break prematurely. when this belt breaks it causes major internal engine damage. The last broken time belt I repaired on one of these engines cost the owner $3000.00 parts and labor. too expensive to take chances with. good luck with the project! rick

The "book" times are based on knowing what you are doing and have average tools on a vehicle with no obsticles like rusted bolts that can slow a job down seriously.

A 1991 could be an open book as to how long it would take. You may consider doing lots more than just the pump while you are there too. Do you want to flush system, new hoses and thermostat while it's drained for the pump?

Guess there's just that engine for this year. That type pump is fairly straight forward in many cases if there's some room to work. DIY vs pro with the tools and experience, time for job at this age I'd about double it the estimated times,

the car will rev up and down then cut off it will do this twice then run well change the iacv still same thin just pull a code maf and perg valve should i change these parts

Having a code that refers to a specific component does not mean that component is bad. The code is giving you specific information about the circuit related to that component and now someone needs to determine what the actual cause is. Make sure that there are no air leaks in the hose between the MAF and the throttle body.

replaced compressor, (expasion valve replaced twice) dryer, and evaporater. flushed evacuated and recharged system. High Side 125 Low side 70 outside temp 80 cooling to 72. Need some suggestions

Yes it was leaking the evaporater was replaced .Also the compressor bearing was rumbling. So the compressor and expansion value were replaced along with the receivier dryer. After charging with 24oz. of r134a low side is 80 and high side is 125 I initialy thought the expansion value was stuck open so I replaced it a second time now I am thinking the compressor must be defective what do you think? any comments appreciated!

My wifes 1996 Nissan Maxima's A/C fan blower started speeding up in conjunction to the Cars engine rpm's. The faster she goes the harder the fan blows, and the cooler it gets. and visa versa.

my wife has a 1993 nissan maxima i assumed that the alternator was bad so i took to parts store and had it tested, it turned out to be good, so they say. my explorer charges at 14.5v the one on her car is only charging at 13.9 with nothing running and about 13.4-.6 with lights and ac going. just wanted to make sure this is normal.

I think it should be over 14v with a slightly raised idle. If not I don't think it has the full amp output. Not sure what off car testing would really show. It probably operates fine and battery probably doesn't go dead but I would expect better.

Hard to say but you may not need to do anything right now about that. If it runs well and no warning just keep an eye out but it's probably ok,
