1993 mazda b2600 brake lights dont work

Question From countryguy92 on 1993 mazda b2600 brake lights dont work

The brake lights on my 93 mazda b2600 5 speed, do not turn on. i do not know a lot about trucks, but I think it might be the fuse, again I'm not certain. so far I haven't tried anything, I'm not sure where to start, I'm not all to familiar with brake lights.

Response From Hammer Time

If you are looking for instructions on how to check a fuse, it may be time to head for the closest repair shop.

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

I'll second that suggestion. If this has a trailer hitch and wiring check that or ask to have that checked as some are kinda hack jobs and don't hold up...........

1990 Mazda B2600i

Question From lee81lee81 on 1990 Mazda B2600i

Hi,

I have a 1990 mazda b2600i (2.6 litre) which seems to be over fuelling intermittently and cutting out. It can run for days and then suddenly stops and won't start again - which is rather hazardous when on a highway! The fuel has been changed, its been flushed, all modules, injectors, plugs and wiring have been checked. However, we cannot find the plug socket to plug the diagnostic computer into to help determine the fault. Is there one hidden somewhere that we don't know about?

We are stuck in South Africa and need to get back to Zimbabwe. The Mazda agents cannot find the problem - can anyone help with some suggestions of what it might be?

Look forward to any help as we are scratching our heads and pulling our hair out!

Cheers,

Lee

Response From nickwarner

if anything like the fords of that year, the plug is under the hood around drivers side fender. Its black and marked EEC

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

If this is right hand drive, check both sides for the plug,

Response From DanD

Hopefully you’re not looking of a diagnostic connector like you’d find on an OBD-II type vehicle?
Back in 1990 the Mazda system was OBD-I and not all that helpful; you’d basically only retrieve trouble codes either by using their “diagnostic checker box” or using flash code method of the check engine light.
There are two green diagnostic connectors under the hood close to the fuel filter. One is a six pin (used with checker box) and a one pin connector for flash codes. Once you find the one pin green connector; connect a jumper wire to it and battery neg; turn the ignition on (engine off) and count the check engine flashes.
Not sure if a code will help you with this problem; diagnostic codes do not always have the mystical answer to a running concern; but it wouldn’t hurt to know if there are any and what circuit(s) it may deal with.

For an example of a flash code count for code 23 being flashed from the check engine light would look something like this.
Turn the ignition on, connector grounded; the light would flash flash pause flash flash flash longer pause and then repeated, two more times and then on to another code number if there are any.

Question From backyardmechanic on 1989 mazda b2600i 2.6 4 cyl loss of performence throttle hesitation

truck starts shuts off turns over the 2nd time and idles the idle is sometimes a severe shutter close to stall point but stays running ive adjust the cap and rotor on a whim ive adjusted the efi carb screw improves a little bit ive shecked my plug wires all have spark just put new plugs in and ive also adjusted the throttle positioning sensor still have severe throttle hesitation when the smallest amount of throttle is applied when throttle is applied motor shutters and wants to stall but comes back after 1 quarter applied throttle any info is help please and thank you

Response From Hammer Time

on a whim ive adjusted the efi carb screw

OK, I'll bite. What's an EFI carb screw since the 2 words are a conflict in themselves.

Response From Discretesignals

Probably means the air bypass screw for setting min air rate.

Check engine light on?

Response From nickwarner

EFI carb screws have a very delicate procedure to adjust and can cause the issue you have if not done properly.

1. muffler belt must be at proper tension and timed to 13 degrees advance at 60 degrees celcius

2. blinker fluid reservoir must be within spec and quality fluid used(I prefer Dr. Snake brand for my truck)

3. with the engine at idle, use a left handed metric crescent wrench and tighten screw to 15 foot-meters

4. back off 1/4 turn

5. if this procedure is followed exactly you will get 50mpg and the truck will never break down again.

Response From nickwarner Top Rated Answer

Its no fun to go fishing if there aren't any bites. Damn. Back to drinking for me.

With all due respect stop adjusting things you know nothing about as you are just making a possible fix that much harder,

high nox level

Question From 08lynn on high nox level

Have a 1993 Mazda B2600I.2.4L engine,198000 miles.Took to get state emission test. fail test. Are there somethings that I could check or do to help reduce nox level? Are there some additives to put in fuel to reduce nox level?

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

There is no such thing as "Mechanic in a Can" so forget the additives.

Nox is caused by excessive combustion temperatures. You want to look for things like over advanced timing, engine overheating or inoperative EGR system.
