Help with Fuse Tap

Question From jd63chev on Help with Fuse Tap

refer to page 7 of this thread, post number 66 and 67.

link deleted ............... not allowed

The idea of using a fuse tap, or add a circuit fuse tap on the fuse box for the mod to have your high beams and fog lights on at the same time is interesting. However, the way he is doing it seems wrong to me, but I am not much of an electrician. Wouldn't it be better to:

Use the add a circuit fuse tap in the fog light fuse, putting a 15amp fuse in the bottom slot (since that is what is in that spot, i.e. 15amp), then run the red wire and tap directly to the high beam headlight fuse, using a 10amp fuse in the top slot of the fuse tap (since that is what is in the headlight fuse spot). Wouldn't that give you a fused circuit then and be less complicated? Seems like this guy has way too many fuses in the line.

Anyway, thank you for any help, as I said I am not too astute when it come to understanding auto wiring.

Response From jd63chev

Never mind. I got no time for ass hats like you guys. You aren't here to help out anyone, you are just here to try to act like big shots and put everyone down. So I really don't give a shit if you all help me or not, I will go find some people who have a little balance in their lives to ask.

Thank you. I am also not too astute at the posting thing, but I do appreciate your help very much.

Response From Hammer Time

You really need to read the forum rules

You haven't posted the year, make, model and engine size nor have you told anyone what the issue is and exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

PS, you don't need to keep quoting the previous post either.

2013 Chevrolet Silverado, 2500hd. While I think the thread speaks pretty clearly to what I want to do, to stay within your ire, I will repeat it one more time. Trying to keep the fog lights on with the bright lights and I have a wiring concern about the recommendation that I see in the post that you put a copy of on this forum.

Response From Discretesignals Top Rated Answer

So basically your running the fog lights off the headlamp high beam circuit? Adding loads to a circuit that wasn't designed to handle those loads isn't too smart. Why can't you just turn on your fog lamps when you turn on your high beams?

Response From Hammer Time

And with that we say good riddance.

Response From Discretesignals

I guess someone didn't like our advice.

Response From Hammer Time

I'll process a refund for him.
