The "pinky thingy" is fine, huh? Well it must be the random, retro thingy then.

Question From Guest on broken dipstick 05/06 dodge magnum

05/06 Dodge Magnum When I checked the oil the dipstick broke off when I went to check the oil and is below the top of the tube. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

Response From Sidom

You can use a pick to try to pull it out or drill a tiny hole in the plastic & thread a small screw in the hole to pull it out or seal the oil fill hole & try to pop it out with air......... which ever method you try, spray a little PB blaster (or WD40) on it 1st to lube up the o ring................

Response From Guest Top Rated Answer

Thanks. I tried the screw, but I didn't pre-drill I was worried about getting bits of plastic in the engine if I went to deep. I will try again.

Response From Sidom

The screw method will only work if you drill a hole in the stick to screw it in to, so it has something to grab onto.....

Did you ever figure out why your Magnum wouldn't shift out of Park? Mine wouldn't shift this morning and I am trying to figure out why.

Check to see if you have brake lights. Brake switch can cause this.

05 Dodge Magnum Park Brake Handle pulled out

Question From comnavguy on 05 Dodge Magnum Park Brake Handle pulled out

The parking brake handle pulled out with the brakes locked ON.

Is there any emergency release for this problem, or do I have to fish the release cable out ?

Response From Hammer Time

If you remove the covers to access the parking brake assembly under the dash, the cable will ultimately be connected to a release lever that you should be able to just pull on the release it.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOUR FINDERS ARE WHEN YOU PULL THAT LEVER BECAUSE THINGS ARE GOING TO SNAP BACK INTO PLACE. DON'T GET YOUR FINGERS CAUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Response From comnavguy

The brake mechanism is mostly hidden by a brace, AND I can not find any cable.

If you or ANYONE has a picture or drawing of the brake mechanism I would be ever thankful.

Thanks

Response From Hammer Time

You might want to drop the lower cover because it may have just come disconnected from the handle and you can grab the cable from there.

Response From thechosinfew Top Rated Answer

Response From Hammer Time

No, but you can read the posting instructions and stop posting on old threads. Start a new thread of your own..

Response From comnavguy

A picture is worth a 1000 words, and over 900 of those are THANK YOU !

I had been fishing/feeling for the cable forever. Two minutes after looking at the pic, I had the brakes released.

Thanks and then some.

2005 Dodge Magnum - Front end noise

Question From craigferris on 2005 Dodge Magnum - Front end noise

2005 Dodge Magnum se

A clunking noise occurs in the drivers side front wheel well when going over small bumps such as pot hole repairs. There is no other trouble, steering and alignment seem fine. There is no noise at all when going over smooth surfaces. I took off the left front wheel and inspected the area, nothing appears to be broke or loose.

Response From Guest

Have same problem with my 05 RT. i had a similar sound with my old explorer and that turned out to be the stab link. was fairly obvious as it had sheared in half. Had the tire off on the magnum and all seems fine. Suspecting something with the ball joints.
has anyone tried replacing the ball joints and did it work?

Response From Sidom

I've had some Chrysler's with bad sway bar mounting bushing. They didn't look oblonged, cracked or bad in any way but they were giving a clunking noise over bumps. To verfiy I took the bushing off, flipped it around backwards & put it back on the sway bar and the noise was gone.

It that is the case for you replace the bushings both of them, don't leave it that way.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

Sidom:

That's worth a couple stars!

He said to just go in & order, they'll "pretend" to not know what i'm talking about. Then I do the secret code, I believe he said the chicken dance & bark, then they'll hook me up

Oh yea,,, double shot expresso, here I come.... You guys need anything????

Response From Tom Greenleaf
