'93 chrysler concorde fuel filter change

Question From Guest on '93 chrysler concorde fuel filter change

anyone know how to change a fuel filter on a '93 chrysler concorde?

any advice would be appreciated, on one end the connection won't come off. other end is free, though.

Response From DanD Top Rated Answer

Below is an example of one type of fuel filter quick-connect, disconnect tool.
You would open up the tool enough to get it around the line; then slide the narrow end of the tool inside the quick connector. This should release the tangs inside the connector, allowing the connector to slide off of the filter.
But because of the age of this vehicle; the filter and quick connector might be seized together; if this is the case, then you will likely have to cut the line.
There are line repair kits available that will make putting the connector back on much easier.
If you do have to cut the line and are thinking that you’ll just use rubber fuel line to connect everything back together; make sure you use hose that is designed to handle the pressure the fuel pump can produce.
Regulated pressure can reach 55-60psi and I was surprised at this, after looking up the spec for maximum pressure; these pumps can produce is as high as 135psi. Regular everyday fuel line would blow up, like a balloon.

94 Chrysler Concorde AC

Question From Willybill on 94 Chrysler Concorde AC

AC on a 94 Chrysler Concorde, the compressor does not turn. I jumped a wire from the battery to the compressor and I get cold air. This car has a ATC control, doing the test in the Hayes book to get the codes I get "36" which is ATC head communication failure, what does this mean? I got a used ATC from a junkyard and it tells me the same code.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

Is 12v power making it to the clutch coil at all?

T

Response From Willybill

No. the clutch coil does not have power. That is why I disconnected the one wire that goes to the compressor and put power to it from the battery, I wanted to see if the clutch/ compressor would engage, it did and I got cold air. Willybill

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

With no power there you should trace backwards as to why. It could be a faulty high or low pressure switch, a relay or fuse or a problem with the fan that should come on and the system is shutting down normally with a fault elsewhere to prevent damage. Chase it back to see where the power quits. The control head itself is not the most common problem with this,

Question From Guest on 2000 chrysler concorde 2.7 flywheel

Good Morning I have a 2000 chrysler concorde . It had a blown headgasket I purchase a motor out of a 2002 after work is completed the car rotates but will not start the mechanic is telling me the the flywheel needs to be from a 2000. Is this true he said year cut of and flywheel change. Please advise Thanks

Response From dmac0923 Top Rated Answer

while its always easier to buy a direct replacement for your specific year make/model. as long as its the same engine size. i would think as long as the diameter, teeth on the ring gear, and weights are the same you should be good.

Response From Guest

Thanks so would it be safe to say that this replacement engine I bought has some timming issues. The mechanic said the flywheel did not match because of the diffrent in years. I just want to know if I should take my car somewhere else Im already at $2973.16 with this guy.its a 2000 the engine came out of a 2002 same 2.7 .

Response From Loren Champlain Sr

He's probably right. Due to the crank sensor, the reluctor on the flywheel may be different. BTDT. The original flywheel must be used.

Question From fausty on chrysler concorde brake issues

98 chrysler concorde lxi, 3.2 liter.

hello gentlemen. i have an issue with a steering pulse when braking. any pointers on where to start. rotors, wheel bearings? my nearest parts store is 20 miles away. i was maybe thinking of making a big list, starting with the cheapest items, and returning what i don't need. any help is appreciated.

Response From Hammer Time

That is nearly always the result of rotor distortion. I don't recommend trying to resurface them as the problem will likely reoccur quickly. You should also replace the pads at the same time, regardless of their condition.

Response From fausty Top Rated Answer

Ok thank you. Rotors are fairly cheap anyways, and I have been meaning to do a pad pop anyways. I will keep you posted. I was hoping it wasn't the tie rods so this kinda makes my day. Easy fix.

Response From Hammer Time

Loose tie rods would exaggerate the problem but the rotors are the trigger.

Response From fausty

Ok thank you. How do I check the tie rods? My haynes manual has check info on almost everything but not that.
