Question From tomphilpott on mazda anti lock brakes

i have a 93 mazda b2200 and the anti lock brake light comes on when i start it, what could this be? thanks

Response From dave284 Top Rated Answer

It could be one of the sensors on the steering knuckles or the anti-lock brake control module....a diagnostic scan would be the best and most accurate to pin point the problem.

Question From reed89 on 1999 mazda 626 brake lights won't work

1999 mazda 626 es 2.0 4 cyl. when i turn my lights on the tail lights light up, but when i press the brake pedal they don't get brighter, so never looks like i'm pressing on brake pedal. tested the brake light switch. any help much appreciated

Response From Timthecarguy719

Maybe a fues?
Look around in the fues block(s) and see if any of them say brake light or something like that.
Maybe a break in the wiring going to them.
They could all be running off the same ground wire too and theres a bad ground.

Response From Hammer Time

What about when the lights aren't on and you step on the brake. Do you have brake lights them?
What about the 3rd (high mount) brake light? Does that one work?

Response From reed89 Top Rated Answer

Nope still no brake lights when lights are off, and the high mount doesn't light either. i also replaced all bulbs.

Response From Hammer Time

Then you need to go to the brake light switch and test for power coming in all the time and out when the brake is applied.

Response From reed89

appreciate it. will do

Question From coz3 on Mazda tribute brakes

What is the normal wear time for front brakes. I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute with 36,000 miles. I was told I need new front pads and rotors. Is this a normal time to need replacement and about how much would a replacement of front pads and rotors cost me? Thanks.

Jonny

Response From Tom Greenleaf

That's about right for front brakes on a car. Rear drum brakes last longer. Rotors no longer come with tons of extra metal so it is best to get new ones. I quit turning rotors as they have a high chance of warping from being too thin.

Driving habits vary and some will wear out sooner or later than that. I suggest asking for high quality parts as I swear they feel better and may last longer.

It should be too early for a real major job so I would expect it to cost about $120 to $140 depending on the price of the parts, T

Response From Guest

Is this for both sides? I got 3 quotes. $319, $364.50, and $410.

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

That sounds high and yes that would/should be for both. Call a parts store and see what they say for prices. Some cars have surprised me. There are chain repair places that adversize much less than that but it will be the economy parts, T

Question From countryguy92 on 1993 mazda b2600 brake lights dont work

The brake lights on my 93 mazda b2600 5 speed, do not turn on. i do not know a lot about trucks, but I think it might be the fuse, again I'm not certain. so far I haven't tried anything, I'm not sure where to start, I'm not all to familiar with brake lights.

Response From Hammer Time

If you are looking for instructions on how to check a fuse, it may be time to head for the closest repair shop.

Response From Tom Greenleaf Top Rated Answer

I'll second that suggestion. If this has a trailer hitch and wiring check that or ask to have that checked as some are kinda hack jobs and don't hold up...........
