Question From cgreer45 on 2000 dodge stratus no power to powerwindows

Just bought this car at an auction,2000 dodge stratus se 135000 miles 2.4L. power windows and mirrors don't work have no power to that fuse! also keeps blowing interior fuse as soon as it is inserted! and the blower only works on high, can you give me some advise on what to do?

Response From bobbaganush Top Rated Answer

for the blower only working on high, put a new blower motor resistor in. it a 30 dollar part from napa and it very easy to install it. its below the glove box.

Response From Tom Greenleaf

Please look at dates. This is an old thread now,

Response From Sidom

I'm not sure of your electrical abilities but with these problems it might not be a bad idea to get a good manual with some good wiring diagrams to help you track down these electrical problems sounds like there is a couple going on right now..

You might start with the dead fuse #1. You are going to have to track down the wire that feeds that fuse in the box & repair the circuit or replace the box, whatever the problem is and then see if that fix had any effect on the other problems and go from there.........

1996 Dodge Dakota gas gauge

Question From jshamley on 1996 Dodge Dakota gas gauge

hello - I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota extra cab SLT V8 5.2L 318 with 160,000+ miles and the gas gauge has recently stopped working. for a while it would jump around and not give a true reading, but now it pretty much sits at the bottom all the time. if I fill the gas completely, then it will sit at full for about 50 miles before it jumps to the empty side. is this a computer issue? or is the gauge just bad?

I have other interior power issues such as the radio not getting power and the driver door doesn't trigger the interior light or key buzzer anymore. It would be nice if all of these things were connected, but knowing my luck they are not. Throwing the truck into a river is not quite an option yet, so keep those comments to yourself

thank you for any help!
-Jeff

Response From Sidom

I would probably start off with checking the grounds on that. There should be a couple under the dash. I believe there are some near the center on the drivers side and they may be some on each side behind the kick panels. Check those out, make sure they are clean & tight....

Response From jshamley Top Rated Answer

cool - I just got a new blower motor resistor, so I have to get back in that area anyways and I will check these.

thanks!

2003 Ram 1500 Blower Motor Not Working

Showing 3 out of 3 Posts
Question From mrbilliard on 2003 Ram 1500 Blower Motor Not Working

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 quad 2wd and the blower motor quit working. I checked the fuses, pulled the blower motor and hooked it directly to the battery and everything was fine. I also purchased a new blower motor resistor and installed, but still nothing. I checked for power at the motor and the resistor and I get nothing. I had my brother who is an electrician check the switch and he says it seems to be fine. I am running out of things to check and Chrysler wants $80 just to look at it. If anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated, by the way this ram has the 5.9 V8, thanks again.

Response From DanD Top Rated Answer

Because I don’t know what a quad is; a ram pick up, ram van or ram wagon? I’ll talk generically because the one thing that I see in all three is that the blower motor is fed power directly from the ignition switch when its in the run position. The resistor and switch are on the ground side of the circuit. So with the motor unplugged you should have power on one of the wires (either blue or green) with the ignition on. With out having power at this wire you’re going to have to chase it back to the ignition switch to find out where it has gone open.
The blower motor circuit is fused before the ignition switch; with you not saying anything about other things not working it likely isn’t a fuse. But recheck them any way it’ll be of a higher amperage 40 or 50 amp in the under hood fuse panel.
Also with the blower motor unplugged you won’t see any power at the switch or resistor because like I said they are on the ground side of the circuit.
Not to insult anyone but tell your brother to remember that this is a DC (direct current) system not AC. I’ve seen electricians work on automotive wiring before and they keep looking for a neutral wire; there isn’t one. LOL
Dan.

Response From steve01832

The next thing you should check is the blower motor relay.

Rear Air not blowing

Showing 2 out of 2 Posts
Question From jhamby on Rear Air not blowing

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram Van 2500.

I had the blower motor go out, and i replaced it. After replacing it I had one setting working which was on max. I replaced the blower motor resistor. Now i have 2 our of 3 fan speeds working. However Now i noticed the rear portion of the fan is not blowing any air.

I bought a Haynes Repair Manual which has been not that helpful.

I have checked the breakers and made sure the rear air switch is on, is there a breaker of something i am missing that i need to check.

Please let me know.

Thank you in advanced.

JH

Response From Hammer Time Top Rated Answer

If the rear blower isn't working on any speed, then you probably want to test the motor itself by jumping power and ground to it because it has separate circuit for high speed. If the motor is OK, then you need to determine if it's power or ground that it's lacking.

99 Dodge Stratus AC not blowing any air

Question From MathewOgden on 99 Dodge Stratus AC not blowing any air

I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus 2.4L with about 178,000 miles.
The AC and heater worked awesome up until one fateful instance. On a cold night, we got in the car, turned it on, and without driving around or anything, we just sat in the car and blared the heater to warm up. The next morning, I got in the car and absolutely nothing was blowing. No air from the AC or heater on any speed or setting. I could still hear a clicking noise activate coming from under the hood when turning on the AC, but no air at all.
I replaced the blower motor fuse which looked bad, but still had no change after replacing. I did some reading and eventually replaced the blower motor resistor and still had the same exact symptoms, no change. Then I replaced the actual blower motor which I was pretty positive was the problem. Unfortunately I was disappointed in that it wasn't the solution. After putting in the new blower motor however, I did notice hearing the different vents or something open and close as I switched between settings. But still no air.
I'm pretty stuck as to what my next option could be. Maybe one of the connectors on the resistor or the motor are burnt up or something. Or perhaps the blower motor is still not getting power, but I'm not sure how to tell if any of those are the case.

If the fuse was blown and you replaced it before replacing the Blower Motor, and the Blower Motor was bad, then it probably blew the fuse again .
Did you check the fuse after replacing the Blower Motor?

I had thought that as well. I checked the fuse and it looked good. I ended up taking the parts out again to double check if I did everything correctly and checked the first again at that point. It was still good.

With the blower setting on high check the voltage on both wires that go to the blower motor connector. Don't unplug the connector. Take your volt meter with the black lead connected to a good ground and use the red lead to touch inside the back of the connector. You want to make your voltage measurements without disconnecting anything. Let us know your readings.
