Air temperature sensor on a laguna

Question From roncella on Air temperature sensor on a laguna

Hi there i have an X plate renault laguna, i need to find the IAT (air temperature sensor) can someone let me know where it is please and how many wires it would have on it please.

Thanks

Response From dave284 Top Rated Answer

I really don't know of this vehicle, but most IAT sensors are located on the air filter assembly and some on the air flow meter, start at the top of the intake.....most of these sensors have two wires and are held in place by a plastic clip on each side, thought this bit of info might help.

Blazer S-10 Intake air temperature sensor

Question From romax2 on Blazer S-10 Intake air temperature sensor

Does anybody know where the intake air temperature is located on my 1991 S-10 Blazer with an 4.3 TBI engine?
Roger

Response From romax2 Top Rated Answer

Thanks for the info Dan, that was my huntch, too
Roger

Response From DanD

I just looked on the emissions application chart in my service manual and I don’t think they used an air temperature sensor on the 4.3Lt Z code TBI engines back in 91.
The way it looks they only started using them on the 4.3Lt W code Vortec engine a couple of years later.

1999 Taurus Se Heater Problems

Question From sjohns on 1999 Taurus Se Heater Problems

When weather became warm heater quit. Digital display on dash works. fuses good. Outside temp reading is 0. help.

Response From Hammer Time

You're going to have to go into a lot more detail than that.
What engine?

Is it an auto temp system?

Exactly what is not working...... temp? ............blower?

Do other functions work properly?

Response From sjohns

Thanks for the reply. Motor is Duratech V6 Fuel injected 24 valve. Has automatic climate control. Digital display appears to be OK. indicates each function as selected. Blower does not kick in. Odd thing is the outside temp reading of 0. checked fuses according to Ford Fleet Taurus troubleshooting manual. Tried for diagnostic codes through digital display according to Ford Fleet manual. Engine temp is normal. This morning I am going to see if the blower motor is getting power. I suspect that it is not getting power. Think it is a control problem.

Response From sjohns

Follow up: No power to blower motor, I think. Found one orange one black wire, which is which? Does motor have to be running to supply power to blower motor?

Response From Hammer Time

My guess is this is going to be a bad blower speed controller. Now, if it is, then it was likely caused by a blower motor drawing too much current so that would need to be changed also.

Response From sjohns

Thanks for your help.

Response From Discretesignals Top Rated Answer

For the outside temperature reading have you inspected the ambient air temperature sensor located in front of the condenser?

Response From sjohns

Are you talking about the A/C condenser coil in front of the car? The outside temp reading of 0 coincided with the blower going out. Coincidence? Please be specific about location. I have only had this car for a couple of weeks.

Response From Discretesignals

The condenser in front of the radiator. The sensor is located in front of the condenser near the center of the vehicle screwed into a bracket. It shouldn't make the blower quit working, but might have something to do with your outside air temp reading.

Response From sjohns

Appreciate your help. Will check it out. Can't buy parts til Wed. Will followup.

Response From Discretesignals

Don't buy any parts yet until you know for sure what the problem is

If you find the sensor, unplug it and check the voltage on the pink/black wire and the red/orange wire with the sensor unplugged using a volt meter connected to battery negative. I'm suspecting the red/orange wire should have 5 volts on it that is sent from the AC control module. If you don't see any voltages on it, it could be the module has an issue or the circuit is grounded.

From there you would have to make your circuit checks at the ac control module. You want to test powers and grounds and the sensor circuit before condemning anything. The ambient temp reading going to zero and the blower quitting might be related if the problem is with the ac control module. Testing would prove that.

Response From Hammer Time

First, I strongly suggest that you change your user name. The spammers will have a field day with that.

You need to check both power and ground at the motor because ground is likely the control circuit.

Response From sjohns

Thanks again. Time for me to show how dumb I can be. LOL found two wires going to blower, orange and black. Turned ignition to on. checked for voltage and found none. Does motor have to be running for blower to get power?

engine codes

Question From eyob07 on engine codes

Hi everyone this is my friends 2005 Nisan x-trail, the car stalls sometimes and when we scan it there were two trouble codes,P0113 air temperature circuit high and P0335 crankshaft sensor circuit high, witch of this sensor could cause this kind of stall problem I believe the air temperature sensor, we need your advice before we do anything thank you all.

Response From Discretesignals

I would tend to say the crank sensor high code would be the one to cause a stall. Now on some vehicles the engine will actually run with out a crank sensor signal. I'm am not sure if this is one of them. The IAT code may have set if someone unplugged the MAF.

This is a circuit code, so you'll need to monitor signal, reference, and ground with a lab scope or graphing meter to see what goes wacko. I usually scope the sensor power and ground at the sensor itself and scope the signal at the ECU. If you lose signal at the ECU when the fault occurs and powers and grounds stay good, then probe the signal up at the sensor to verify wiring integrity. It's all personal preference.

Response From eyob07

Hi there than you for the help, we decided to change the crank sensor can you help with the location, do we have to take the timing belt cover, if you can send a picture that will be great.
thank you and God bless.

Response From Discretesignals

Response From eyob07

Hello there just to make sure is this picture you send for 2005 Nisan x- trail 2.5 engine sorry to bother you.

Response From Discretesignals

Your not bothering me. I don't know what that engine is out of, but it is a QR25DE, just like the one that is in your Xtrail. It is the same engine that is used in the Altima and Sentra.

Response From eyob07 Top Rated Answer

thank you very much
