Volkswagen Educates, Entertains Students

(NUI) - To college students, there are few events that match the excitement of getting a great new car. Volkswagen of America, Inc. is planning to top that excitement by offering college students great pre-owned cars at prices they can afford.

For the second consecutive year, Volkswagen is hitting the road to visit colleges in the United States and Canada, bringing students a touring entertainment festival complete with a mobile movie theater. Students will get to see a movie with free food and drink and pick up VW-branded merchandise. But the event doesn't end there.

Volkswagen reps will be on hand to answer questions about its cars and services. Students will learn about how they can afford pre-owned cars on a student budget, and they'll have access to Volkswagen's turbonium.com Web site where they can surf the site for further information.

"We see this program as an opportunity to connect the brand to a very important consumer," says Heidi Korte, manager of Volkswagen promotions. "Many students are purchasing their first cars, and the Volkswagen Certified Pre-owned vehicle gives them just what they're looking for - affordability, quality and the ever-important cool factor."

The pre-owned cars are in excellent condition and they have very low mileage. To qualify, a vehicle has to pass a 112-point certification inspection administered by a qualified technician. And each car is backed by a two-year
or 24,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first.

The Major Motion Picture Show is slated to hit Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford Conn., Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Providence, R.I., San Diego, Tallahassee Fla., Toronto and Washington, D.C.

Volkswagen partners Trek and K2 will also be on hand. Trek's mobile cycling unit, with 20 bikes, will offer demo rides, while K2 will feature an entire line of skates, skis and snowboards.

For more information on the festival and how to buy or lease a pre-owned Volkswagen, visit www.vw.com.
