Its not a power shortage as the radio works fine when you flash the headlights. it only happens when the dash lights are switched on. Any ideas anyone? I have change the tail light connector plate but that did not fix the problem. The turn signal to the left does not blinks and the brake light does not work on that particular side. All the Fuses work and when the lights are turned on at night the taillights light up but the turn and brake signal do not work on the drivers side. Any help would be appreciated. There seems to be no vacuum pressure in the hose that locks the hubs in. This could be an electrical problem or a vacuum problem. I do not know how this vacuum system operates for the 4WD. Is there a electrical connection that makes the vacuum systen operate for the hubs or should this be a full time vacuum? Please help me understand this system. URGH!!! Thank you. Battery is not dead, battery cables are clean and well connected. When the key is turned there is a little humming noise but no clicks or other sounds to indicate the engine is attempting to turn over. The truck is used and came with no mannual. I'm not sure if I have an electronic starter or the old fashion mechanical one. It ran fine yesterday with no indication of any problems. Any help would be appreciated. This is a heater hose size pipe coming out of the firewall on the pass side where the A/c lines go threw also ....the heater core hoses are more toward the driver side so I really dont know what this is. When i discovered the leak there was a 90 degree plastic elbow on this pipe with no clamps so there must not be any prssure. Is this some sort of circulating connection for the closed system? If so where does this thing connect to? If I plug it off it starts leaking from directly below some sort of sheild. In that case - one of the pulleys is a tensioner and if you relieve the tension the belt comes off and put back on new one making sure it's in the same route and is exactly in the right grooves. Some/most have a pic/diagram under hood showing how the belt is routed. If no take a digital pic if you can before you start for reference. Not a trans mechanic but know just enough to be a little informed. GM uses an actuator to engage front hubs with a heater wire to make it faster. Sounds like your 4wd is engaged - just not the hubs. If all looks good - see what you can find at the transfercase for loose or broken connections. After that I'm lost. Format at this site is being worked on. Your inquiry showed up under a radio problem so you will certainly get a larger group of mechanics if you post a new one. Interesting but I just had my actuator and heater wire replaced on a 97 C/K 2500 and just let a buddy in the biz do it while I did something else. Mine was just SLOW to engage but always did. It was just annoying to wait as I plow snow with it and use 2wd between places. My Chev truck was not intended to just leave in 4wd on dry or wet roads - but MAN can it plow snow when engaged! You should hear the fuel pump in gas tank pressurize and shut down when key is in on position only. If it keeps "buzzing" it can't make the right pressure or pressure regulation is screwed up. You can buy just the cable insert but it's a bit fussy to cut it to the exact right length. Cables must be pulled out from the dash end - I know that. Probably it back behind some easy to get at spot. Ray - short miles doesn't hurt much. Long tows don't allow properlubrication of trans parts unless engine is running. Again the exact procedure for each veh should be listed in the owner's manual. Doing it wrong cas cause some real damage in many vehicles. While driving the blazer through the rain, I found that the wipers didn’t work. The next day, after wiggling the wiper fuse and starting the truck, the wipers worked. A day later the Blazer wouldn’t start, I attempted to quick charge and to jump start the battery, neither worked. I took the battery to an auto parts store who sold me a new battery which appeared to solve my problem. A month later, after recently washing the Blazer, I went to start it in the morning and neither the starter or anything else was receiving electricity. I had the battery checked and it was fine. After just putting the battery back in, I had power again! I don’t know why this worked, how long it will will last or what to do if the Blazer loses power again. The brakes wore down to metal in less than 30,000 miles with periodic rear brake adjustments. This is at least the second time for this problem as noted from previous owner. Any suggestions on eliminating the excessive front brake wear? IP: Logged Message: My '95 Taurus has a locking mechanism for the trunk by the driver side door so you can lock your trunk from the inside. When I bought the car there was no key for it. Now the locking mechanism accidentally got pushed and I can't get in to my trunk. Since that happened, I find that I have a flat - spare's in the trunk!! I siphoned all the old gas out and put new premium gas in it and it still cuts off. when i take off the fuel line that goes into the carb it is spurting out gas every time I crank it, so i'm lost and can't figure out why it does not run for a long period of time? So i replaced the gasket again started the engine no leak but the oil pressure comes and goes. thought it maybe due to the leak the first time, causing the oil to be diluted with water or gas the oil was not milky but could smell a little gas. drained the engine replaced the filter. added all new oil still no oil pressure. After I replaced them, the "mode selector" is stuck in the defrost position no matter whether you put it to blow in front, below or bi/level. Blower motor/fan works fine, HVAC is fine. Temp control fine. Anyone have any advice? We ran a new ground wire back to lights and then they started working but then when we would turn on a blinker and hit the brakes both blinkers would start blinking like the hazzard lights. Then all of the sudden we have no tail lights and the brakes and blinkers dont work on the tail lights. Also we lost our power door locks, our dash lights and our fog lights.
