My 2000 chev blazer, 4.3 v-6 with air, 90,000km has a problem with the heater. First, the air coming out was barely warm. Now, the air will not come out at the floor, and when I switch to the dash vents the air is not hot. I have replaced the thermostat, flushed the coolant system, and checked the vacuum actuators. The actuator for the floor vent appears to be working but, I don't think the actual door is moving. Next, I will back-flush the core. There is also a rattle sound coming from the floor when I am driving and the suspension checked out okay, so I really suspect that the floor vent door shaft has separated from the actuator linkage.
Is there a way of fixing this problem without removing the entire dash and heater box?
Does anyone have info that would be helpful?
Thanks!

After back-flushing the core, the air is being heated properly...The main problem now is getting the air door to move to get some air to the floor.
