 Subject: Kia 1997 key won't come out of the ignition

I have a 97 Kia Sephia and the key won't come out of the ignition. It works fine to turn on but when i turn of the car in the park position the key only turns back as far as the acc. position and won't come completly out.
Even with jimmy the steering it still won't come out. Any solutions.

Spray something like WD-40 into it. Otherwise if that doesn't work you probably need a new ignition switch/key part. Good luck, Tom Greenleaf

It's a prob with the locking device on the tranny.This happened on my 2004 it had to be replaced..

Yes make sure the locking device is working when you put into park. Just try to move the shifter a little back and forth with out pushing in the relace botton and then try to remove the key .....
