 Subject: 2001 Kia Sephia Door Locks

After locking the keys in the car, my wife had AAA jimmy the lock open (on the driver's side). Immediately, the electric window mechanism seemed to be off track when the window reaches the lower couple of inches. A week later, she was unable to unlock the driver side door either remotely or manually. Question 1: is it possible to remove the plastic door cover while the door is shut? Question 2: If I can remove the door cover can I correct the problem my self, or do I need to take it to the DEALER?

Argg! They always go for the driver's door where all the "stuff" is! If that ever happens in the future have them mess with a passenger door.
It probably needs to be opened again to get the panel off and fix what ever wiring and stuff that got bent with the first try. I would let a good auto body shop help you if you can't get the panel off. The less you break the better. That body shop may be at the dealer or independant - couldn't guess at that. i had a jimmy unlock my passenger side door, a few weeks later, the door wouldnt unlock in any way, from the outside or inside. right now, i have the door pannel off in my garrage and am trying to fix the problem. any suggestions step by step?

A friend tried to open the passenger door from the outside at the same time I tried to open the door from the inside. Now I can't get the door open to access the door panel.
HELP!!!

A friend pulled on the outside door handle of the passenger door at the same time I pulled on the interior handle. Now I can not get the door open to access the door panel to fix it.
Any suggestions?

Im sure i knocked something loose. All i want is to unlock the door so i can fix the problems. Any suggestions on how to unlock the door?
