Message: If you are talking about the "Rotary" Wankel engine - it's claim to fame was tons of horsepower with much less room and weight. Invented by Ferdnand Wankel, bought by Mazda, sold to GM for 4.3 Billion and never used by GM as it was a gas hog and tough to control emissions. Rotor apex seals were a problem especially with early ones, which didn't last in automobiles very long. I believe this engine was used in air craft for a while too.
