I'm a bit lost here too. Wish the car was in front of me. If you have fuel spark and timing is even close you should be getting some reaction. Real soaked spark plugs can throw you off if wicked flooded. They don't air dry very well takes high heat to really dry them. You said they were new and new tolerates being flooded better than older ones.

Best I can say right now is take them out - dry them with propane torch, and leave them out for a day for cylinder to dry too. Try again and report back. Plug will get real hot with torch so let them cool and dry in a safe spot.

I'm somewhat lost too so that's my best shot at this, good luck, Tom Greenleaf

The wipers suddenly stopped working while my daughter was driving last night. Checked fuse and it looks good. wash fluid works but no wipermotor noise or anything. any Ideas?

Mildly tap on motor with wipers ON with a hammer. If they start working you probably need the motor. Inconclusive if no change. Good luck Tom Greenleaf.

if tapping on the wiper motor does not work, it might be an ignition switch issue. the blower motor, radio and wipers all run through the electrical portion of the ignition switch.

I tested the motor to see if it was hot with the switch on and it was, so I assume it must be the motor that died. thanks,Mark

After replacing the motor, the wipers still didn't work until I slammed the hood. I remember this from an earlier experience. Is the groud the clip on the mount bracket? I will also make sure the connection is clean. thanks,Mark

Hey Mark, I'll try to help as much as possible. Ironically I'm having a simialar prob. I have an '89 Acclaim getting no power at ignition coil. Anyway, here's a couple thing's I'm thinking, there is a mechanism in the distributor call a pick-up coil. That monitors and changes ignition and is controlled by the S.M.E.C. (computer). To test it is nearly impossible without a diagnostic scanner, but it's really easy to change. It's right underneath the distributor cap. They go for about $30 at AutoZone. If that isn't the problem, then I would think it might be the computer itself (which you can get at a junkyard fairly cheap). Keep in mind, when computer's quit working, they don't always give off a check engine light. Hopefully this info helps a little. Good luck. Aaron
